Farmed and….Dangerous??

This month’s buzz in the agriculture industry has been about Chipotle’s new video series that has been launched on Hulu.

This isn’t Chipotle’s first hit on the agriculture industry. Last fall, they launched a YouTube advertisement for their new app, entitled “The Scarecrow”. You can watch the video here. This video clip shows a world that has been ruined by “corporate agriculture”, and the only way out of this industrialized world of food production is by going back to the “start”.

Honestly, there are several horribly stretched misperceptions that are meant to pull at the viewer’s emotions. But the intent of the video is clear: Chipotle is trying to start a conversation.

The next step in this conversation is this launching their new “Farmed and Dangerous” series. While I am not going to weigh in heavily with my opinion, you shouldn’t believe everything that is portrayed in these videos. As with anything, they are trying to make a point. Here’s a link to part one of “Farmed and Dangerous”.

However, I DO want to invite you to comment below with any questions you may have about the agriculture industry. I grew up on a farm and will soon be graduating with a degree in agriculture. I want to hear your concerns and answer your questions about where your food comes from. Honestly, I don’t know everything there is to know in the world of agriculture, but I’ll do my best to put you in contact with someone who does.

Let’s start a conversation.
